L'Ampolla
The Gateway to the Delta, between sea and river
L'Ampolla is a genuine fishing village on the Gulf of Sant Jordi, where the Mediterranean, the Ebro Delta and the olive groves meet. Known as "the Gateway to the Delta", it keeps the serene charm of the most authentic Costa Daurada, far from mass tourism and with an enviable quality of life.
Beaches and coves of crystal-clear water
Its coastline combines wide beaches of fine sand with small coves hidden among the cliffs. Cap-Roig beach — iconic and Blue Flag awarded — and Les Avellanes, family-friendly with calm waters, are the most popular. For those seeking intimate spots, Cala María and Cala de l'Ascaret hide among the vegetation and are reached only on foot.
The cliff path links many of these beaches in a spectacular walk beside the sea, with shallow waters ideal for families.
Nature at the gates of the Delta
South of the village, the Bassa de les Olles is part of the Ebro Delta Natural Park: a lagoon where you can watch flamingos, herons and hundreds of birds. The seafront promenade offers open views of the Mediterranean and the Fangar bay, perfect for an unhurried stroll.
A taste of the sea
As a true seaside town, L'Ampolla lives on fresh fish and Delta rice. A paella right by the port or a good suquet fish stew are the finest way to end the day facing the Mediterranean.
